The Saga of Hi-Sierra Guide

The Saga of Hi-Sierra is an organization of Scouts and Scouters dedicated to improving the Hi-Sierra experience. This camp service organization promotes:

  • Personal growth in Scouting ideals
  • Preservation of the outdoors
  • Local knowledge and storytelling
  • Enhancement of camp programs

Participation and service earn Scouts beads and recognition. Info is available at the camp office or from your commissioner. All are encouraged to join the Saga of Hi-Sierra.

Membership and Advancement

Ranks are open to all registered Scouts and adult leaders. Credit for previous achievements at other camps may be granted by the Council of Legends. Adults can earn beads by supporting Scouts in activities like merit badge classes.

Most beads may be earned more than once, with some limits. Elective beads must be unique, encouraging Scouts to explore camp activities. Some beads are rare and hard to earn intentionally.

Scouts may wear beads as soon as they earn them, regardless of rank. Older Scouts can still collect annual beads even if they choose not to pursue rank advancement.
