Info is available at the camp office or from your commissioner. All are encouraged to join the Saga of Hi-Sierra.

Membership and Advancement

Ranks are open to all registered Scouts and adult leaders. Credit for previous achievements at other camps may be granted by the Council of Legends. Adults can earn beads by supporting Scouts in activities like merit badge classes.

Most beads may be earned more than once, with some limits. Elective beads must be unique, encouraging Scouts to explore camp activities. Some beads are rare and hard to earn intentionally.

Scouts may wear beads as soon as they earn them, regardless of rank. Older Scouts can still collect annual beads even if they choose not to pursue rank advancement.

Ranks and Requirements

Seeker

Interest in Scouting

At least one week at camp

Earn: Lily or Arrowhead, Moccasin, Spade, Sun, Tent, Kettle, Clover

3 additional unique elective beads

Friday evening review

Guardian

At least two weeks at camp

Earned Seeker rank

Earn: Two Oak Leaves, Pine Tree, Waterfall, Log Cabin, Numeral XII, Owl

17 total beads

Friday evening review

Trailblazer

At least three weeks at camp

Earned Guardian rank

Earn: Ember, Axe, Match, Hammer, Herb

22 total beads

Friday evening review

Legend

At least four weeks at camp

Earned Trailblazer rank

Earn: Campfire, Piton, Scroll

3 additional unique elective beads

28 total beads

Friday evening review

Great Legend

Previously earned Legend rank

Served long-term at Camp Hi-Sierra

Ongoing involvement in the Saga

Nominated by Great Legends and approved by the Camp Director

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””] The Saga of Hi-Sierra Guide The Saga of Hi-Sierra is an organization of Scouts and Scouters dedicated to improving the Hi-Sierra experience.
